Agenda for December Leadership Summit Announced

On December 9, The Oregon Business Plan findings, and the recommendations drawn from these findings, will be presented at the Oregon Convention Center to a summit of Oregon leaders hosted by U.S. Senators Ron Wyden, Gordon Smith and Governor-elect Ted Kulongoski. Delegates will include the governor-elect, legislators, and business and government officials from throughout the state.

The summit will consider a series of initiatives to help Oregon nurture world-class, competitive industries. These include steps to build high performing K-12 and higher education systems, make better use of natural resources, expanding industrial land availability to nurture, repair and expand roads and bridges, increase Oregon's global access for people and goods, streamline permitting, and refocus economic development. In light of Oregon's public finance crisis, the summit will also consider what should be done to find greater efficiencies in public services and to improve the way state and local jurisdictions raise revenue.

White papers for the summit workshops will be available on this site one week prior to the event.
