State Certifies 11 Industrial Sites, Launches Website to Help Business Officials Search for Available Land (5/3/04)

Governor Ted Kulongoski unveiled 11 industrial land sites certified as "project ready" and announced the creation of a website -- OregonProspector.com -- to help key business officials find land in Oregon for corporate expansions and relocations.

The 11 sites announced by the governor have been certified by a third-party, private sector verifier and each site is no more than six months away from development, exceeding national standards for "project-ready" status.

Pacific Power President and CEO Judi Johansen joined Governor Kulongoski for the announcement noting that OregonProspector.com "is an ideal economic tool for Oregon as we move into the 21st Century."

The website, the only one of its kind in the United States, lets users search for land in Oregon by city, county, property type, and size, as well as whether or not the site is certified as "project-ready" through the state's new certification program.

Economic development officials expect to announce the certification of additional sites this fall.
