Fourth Annual Leadership Summit--January 2006 On January 9th, 2006, the biggest crowd ever met at the Oregon Convention center to discuss the direction of Oregon. The Summit focused on what Oregon needs to do in order help increase the education attainment and skills of all Oregonians, as well as the exciting work going on to develop Oregon's existing and emerging industry clusters. Third Annual Leadership Summit--December 2004 On December 6, 2004, over 1000 business, elected, and community leaders came together for Leadership Summit 2004--the third annual summit--to help launch the Oregon Business Plan agenda for 2005. August 2004 Regional Meetings In August 2004, Bill Thorndike (Chair of the Oregon Business Plan Steering Committee) and U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (Chair of the OBP Leadership Committee), along with additional OBP business representatives, conducted a 9-city statewide bus tour to hear from local business leaders and update them on the Business Plan. Leadership Summit 2003 On December 1, 2003, over 1000 business, elected, and community leaders came together for Leadership Summit 2003--the second annual summit--to view results from the first year of the Oregon Business Plan. May 2003 Summit Update On May 27, 2003, over 350 business and political leaders (including Senator Ron Wyden, Governor Ted Kulongoski, State Senate President Peter Courtney, and State House Speaker Karen Minnis) convened at Willamette University to assess progress on the Oregon Business Plan and outline next steps on the Plan's initiatives. Leadership Summit 2002 On December 9, 2002 over 1000 business and political leaders came together to help form a common economic agenda at the first Economic Leadership Summit. Fall 2002 Regional Meetings During the months of September and October 2002, Oregon Business Plan staff met with business owners and managers, civic leaders, and interested citizens in a series of regional meetings across the state. The meetings were held in Medford (Southern Oregon region), Portland (Portland Metropolitan region), Eugene (Southern Willamette Valley region), and Bend (Central Oregon region). |
